The last Italian bomber of World War I fell in San Pietro di Feletto, right next to the bell tower of the former Camaldolese Hermitage in Rua di Feletto. Today it is possible to read the story on a totem pole at the site to commemorate the tragic event.
On October 27, 1918, all four aviators of the aircraft died in the crash: lieutenant Mario Tarli of Ascoli Piceno, sergeant Giannetto Vassura of Cotignola (RA) and gunners Dandolo Zamboni of Desenzano and Domenico Fantucci of Vallo di Nera (PG).
